Farifax Festival

GUIDELINES

Guidelines

To help you develop your ten minute performance piece we give you a number of ‘things’ that you must include.  These things can be in whatever way you see fit – whether in the text, through imagery or suggestion, characters or names, through actual props or through any other means you can find.
Remember that you can ALWAYS get in touch with the Festival Director, Claire Glenn or any of the festival committee for guidance or suggestions, but we thought this would be a fun and quirky way to tie the performances together.

These ‘things’ will also create a bit of a running theme throughout the Gala Performance night.

The ‘things’ that you must include in your performance are:

  • scratch
  • whistle
  • switch

Remember!  This does not mean your piece has to be about any of these things, they must just be in your performance in some way, shape or form.  So think outside the square, surprise us with your ingenuity, and have fun creating!

One more thing!

This year performance pieces will be able to include projection.  There are limitations that you will need to consider if you decide to use projection, more information on this is found in the Technical Section.  So please bare these in mind when you are designing your piece.  You might like to include some film in your performance.  If you choose to do so your film excerpt must not exceed three minutes!

**Your Performance must not exceed TEN MINUTES!!**
