Alex’s Story

IMAG0449I have been a part of the Fairfax Festival for 5 to 6 years now, as a participant, work experience and now the YAR.

At first I thought of the Fairfax as just a way of getting away from school and to meet new people, but after being a part of it for so long, I feel the true meaning is that it gives young people the chance to be something more and to try something they would never have thought of before.

I worked out early just how special the Fairfax was and how much being a part of it really means to people.

As I have said to friends, the people who will get the most out of it are not the ones that are the best at performing or want it for no reason, it is for those young people who have an open mind and are willing to try anything.

I used to act to hide, but now it is for fun and because I love it and want to move forward with it all because of the Fairfax and what it gave me and so many more.

Alex was a participant from 2008 – 2012 and was the 2013 Young Artist in Residence.
